Key Responsibilities

  • System Design: Create electrical/control components from concept to implementation based on project requirements.
  • Drafting Software: Design using drafting software, preferably AutoCAD.
  • System Integration: Modify and integrate systems with other project disciplines as needed.
  • Facility Design Interface: Optimize panel locations to minimize voltage drop and design efficient system hardware layouts.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor scope to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with all contract requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure designs comply with local, government, and client design/implementation codes and standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Generate and implement technical risk assessment documents and mitigations.
  • Safety Design: Design and analyze safety-critical parts within a control system, incorporating redundant mitigations for increased safety and reliability.
  • Complex Motion Systems: Design systems with complex motion and automation integration.
  • Documentation: Develop system configuration and design documents, including operation descriptions, detailed control system design descriptions, panel assembly drawings and schematics, termination drawings, network layouts, implementation/acceptance test plans, and routine maintenance/job plans.
  • System Design Calculations: Perform calculations/analysis such as short circuit protection, harmonics, noise reduction/cancellation, power consumption, load flow, protective relay/circuit design, ground fault monitoring, and safety system implementation (SIL/PL rating knowledge preferred).
  • Ride System Design: Knowledge of ride system design for attractions involving guests is preferred.
  • Shift Flexibility: Work off-shifts as needed during installation/commissioning to support the project.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience covering most responsibilities listed above. Preferred experience in ASTM standards, attractions industry, and safety engineering.
  • Knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
  • Ability to collect field data and accurately record findings.
