Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on propagation modeling for non-terrestrial networks and UAS communications.
  • Develop analytical models to estimate network performance across various radio access technologies, including 5G terrestrial and NTN communications.
  • Integrate these models into a cohesive simulation environment for comprehensive analysis, focusing on 5G core and simulations.
  • Collaborate with the FAA on spectrum assessment studies, utilizing modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Promote analytical models from simulation to real-world applications, integrating them into an advanced Software Defined Networking (SDN) controller for predictive network planning.
  • Explore and implement emergency management solutions and lunar surface RAN applications.
  • Publish research findings and present results at conferences and workshops.


Skill Requirements:

  • Expertise in communications technology, specifically in non-terrestrial networks, UAS, and next-gen connectivity.
  • Proficiency in analytical modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN) principles and applications.
  • Familiarity with radio access technologies, including 5G, O-RAN, and VDL.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a research environment.


Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of research experience in communications systems or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaboration with government agencies or research institutions.
