The Senior Cost Accountant plays a key role in standard costing, budgeting, cost variance analysis, and business process improvements. Core Responsibilities:
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actuals.
Manage, maintain, and improve the cost accounting system.
Collect and analyze data to determine costs associated with business activities, including raw materials, labor, and other standard-related expenses.
Lead and participate in physical inventories, reporting results to the executive team.
Assist with month-end closing by preparing journal entries related to various product lines and standard costs.
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure accurate costing and support new product development.
Prepare various ad hoc reports as requested by local or executive management.
Enhance standard cost reporting and conduct variance analysis.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing with a focus on cost accounting.
Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
Self-starter with strong communication (oral and written) and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.
