Are you ready to elevate your career in the solar industry? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solar Engineering Project Manager to join a rapidly expanding Solar Division. This leadership role, based in NJ, offers the chance to work on impactful commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developing schedules and gathering project requirements.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams in the design and delivery of solar PV systems.
  • Assign and manage tasks among junior staff, mentoring team members.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of external sub-consultants and vendors.
  • Monitor and track project progress, proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Champion continuous improvement in engineering and project delivery processes.


Technical Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute all phases of PV system design.
  • Conduct on-site investigations and feasibility assessments.
  • Create detailed PV system layouts and perform system performance modeling.
  • Produce electrical construction documents using AutoCAD.
  • Design electrical distribution systems, including single-line diagrams and voltage drop calculations.
  • Design and specify medium voltage systems (preferred, but not required).
  • Coordinate with utility companies and ensure interconnection compliance.
  • Perform in-depth code reviews and prepare project specifications.
  • Conduct final inspections and develop punch lists for project close-out.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in solar electrical engineering and 7+ years as a project manager.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality construction documents in a design engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of PV Syst, Helioscope, and ETAP (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
